Emali – Early Learning Centre

This Emali flagship facility was constructed by TSDB in 2016 and is uniquely designed with aesthetic appeal from the external landscape through to the internal finishes. The single storey, timber engineered building was designed to nurture the children in their care.

The children’s safety is paramount to Emali and TSDB worked closely with our client to add to and develop the design to incorporate new safety features, more fun for the children and improved learning areas. It comprises of 5 activity rooms, 3 preparation areas and a larger kitchen, and can host 85 children ranging from 0-5 years old. Large commercial aluminium windows allow natural light to flood the internal areas, whilst the warm LED lighting helps to provide a child friendly environment. Prior to construction, the site required extensive civil works, which included a retaining wall around the perimeter of the site and approximately 2,500t of fill imported. All work which was completed in house by the TSDB Civil Team throughout one of Adelaide’s more challenging winters.
